You separated one side to PvE and the other to PvP. I don't PvP, thoroughly dislike and do not enjoy it whatsoever (with an average ping of 300-2k can you really blame me?), so that part of the game is no longer an option & that quest gets filed in with RA/etc as something to avoid.

Thoroughly disappointed here.

Edit: About the Urgoz thing - no idea what they based the decision on, but the simple fact that I can get my drops up there now makes me happy.

I'm also here to have fun for Wintersday, which is why I believe Grentches were removed. It's not FUN to be killed... or is it?

Also, any pictures of the ramp in Urgoz made yet?

Someone should make some kind of meme about the ramp.
Like a demotivator or something.

Of course everyone likes booty, loot, bounty and treasures.

But I like even more when farming yields the same amount of loot as playing normally, and when progressing in the story, doing side-quests and helping others gives even better rewards.

When I want to see grinding mindless zombies, I play Left 4 Dead.

i'm completely failing to see the need for the ramp. it's not like it's an overly hard place to get through alone with 7 heros.

and as for getting drops on the bridge, the only drops up there that you weren't able to pick up were the ones off to the sides. anything on the bridge could be picked up by standing underneath it.

They didn't kill you, they simply blew up any presents that dropped. I don't think running presents is going to be as much fun with no grentches to avoid, which makes it hard to understand why they were removed unless presents are no longer going to be dropping in town. That would be a shame, since I think some people really enjoy doing that.

The town looks empty without my four little green buddies trotting through town, chasing wayward adventurers.

kormir costume looks like shiningblade/white mantle.

no grentches is kinda lol?

new snowball pvp is ehh...you take something that's popular with pve'ers and make it pvp for what reason? its still the same concept but now you add pvp discriminations & trash talk into it. pretty smart. then again, maybe it will make pve'ers better at pvp since they have to think a bit more.

I hear where you are coming from on your other points, but I was basically wondering in that above post if Lemming and Martin thought ANet was capable of fixing these issues come GW2. If they haven't then the type of combat won't matter, because the people gaming the system will still be gaming the system and ruining the game for those of us that want fair play.

Image of the Urgoz ramp. Note that the ramp replaces the positions of the former upper and lower portals. Nice and simple fix.

At Lion's Arch/Kamadan, the Priestess of Melandru gives Fighting in a Winter Wonderland, which is the PvE version of The Great Snowball Fight of the Gods.

Likewise, the Priest of Balthazar gives the PvP version of the same Great Snowball Fight.

People are upset because the PvE version forces you to work on the Dwanya side and not Grenth's.

I'm fairly certain I've covered the situation.

That's pretty much it. My disappointment stems from the mass removal of Grenth from Wintersday. I liked the Grench running around town, and I loved playing on Grenth's side. Why? Because I LOVE winter!

I know, realistically, it makes absolutely no difference in how long "winter" lasts in the game, but that's not the point ...

I have no opinion on the matter, but I just want to point out the delicious irony in all the grentches around here grentching over not being able to be grentch over Wintersday.

Maybe it's part of something bigger, like whats going on with Halloween. Grenth is retreating in his realm due to internal stuff happening. Don't know, just guessing.

No, there's more to it than that. My wife, who absolutely *LOVED* Crush Spirits last year, is completely pissed at the changes this year. She says the "out of bounds" area has been narrowed, so you cannot run past the mobs, and that makes it impossible to do the mission in under 10 mins to get the top reward. There were other little changes, too, she says.
I havent done this mission yet so I have no idea, I'm just repeating what she told me.

I can confirm the out of bounds area has been narrowed to the point an extremely cautious person could sneak in and throw one snowball before getting forced back.

It's possible to do it in under ten minutes, but you'd need a full group. Anyone who thinks a five man squad can do it are ignorant... or hasn't shown me proof yet.
